Milwaukee County Supervisors to Vote on Advisory Abortion Referendum on Spring Ballot

-

The Milwaukee County Board of Supervisors will vote on an advisory abortion referendum that would be placed on the spring election ballot Thursday, Dec. 8.

The resolution is sponsored by supervisors Clancy, Taylor, Cloggs-Jones, Martinez, Burgelis, Martin, Johnson Jr. and Wasserman.

The resolution will also call for the transfer of $16,500 to cover the cost of placing the referendum on the ballot.

A similar resolution failed last July when supervisors voted on whether to have an advisory abortion referendum placed on the November ballot. The resolution was defeated by a vote of 11-6, with Supervisors Deanna Alexander, Patti Logsdon, Shawn Rolland, Anthony Staskunas, Liz Sumner, and Steve Taylor voting against placing a referendum on the November ballot.
